There exist a great number of different research paper formats. Research paper formats may differ, depending on the various factors. For example, research papers on different disciplines are normally designed according to different research paper formats. Or, sometimes, a research paper supervisor recommends his or her students to design their research papers according to a particular research paper format. In any case, the reasons are not very important.

The only thing that matters is to choose the most suitable research paper format for your research paper. In order not to make a mistake in you choice, you had better consult your research paper supervisor.

We will not list the requirements for all the research paper formats, because we do not have an opportunity to do it. However, we offer you to get acquainted with the list of basic requirements, which do not differ from one research paper to another. This will help you design, at least, the draft of your research paper, and it will be much easier for you to make your paper suit any research paper format.

So, all the research paper formats have the following requirements:

  • a research paper has to be divided into the sections, and each section has to start with a new page;
  • the main text of a research paper has to be double spaced;
  • the pages of a research paper have to be numbered;
  • the margins within a research paper has to be 1 inch;
  • a student is allowed to use standard fonts only to print his/her research papers;
  • the bibliography list has to be arranged alphabetically.

In order to find info on some definite research paper format, you should read the guide devoted to this format, or ask you supervisor to consult you.
